"The old web preserved traces. The new independent web needs places to connect them."

This is a small, hand-kept directory of independent sites — personal pages, programmers' corners, blogs, musicians, indie games, strange one-topic hobby sites, webrings, and other rooms in the small web that are still lived in. Nothing here is submitted or paid for by default — the one exception is Featured Placement below, and that's always clearly marked as such. I find a site, I think it's worth a visit, I add it. That's the whole process.

A separate wing of this project, The Cruxible Archive, is for the sites that didn't make it — recovered GeoCities pages, dead personal sites, Wayback finds, old guestbooks. This page is for the living web. The Archive is for what's left of the dead one.

Everything below was found, not submitted. Linking to a public page and describing it doesn't require permission — that's how directories and webrings have always worked. Being listed here does not mean a site is affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cruxible in any way. It means I came across it and thought it was worth pointing at.
